The Duke Ellington Nutcracker: A Jazz Ballet Benefit Performance

  • Brazos Hall 204 East 4th Street Austin, TX, 78701 United States (map)

Coming this holiday season:

Don’t miss a one-night-only theatrical production presented by ATX Artists for Social Impact and Sofar Sounds that blends artistic excellence, immersive storytelling, socially relevant themes, mentorship, and multidisciplinary collaboration together for a wonderful charitable cause in line with ATX Artists for Social Impact’s mission.

In this socially conscious reimagining of the classic fairytale, Capital Contemporary Ballet and the ATX Jazz Orchestra make their official debut, joining forces to tell a new story about community, compassion, and creative expression. Musical Direction by Joshua Alderete. Original Choreography by Caitlin Elledge.

Additionally, talented music students from the Huston-Tillotson University Jazz Program have been selected to perform in the orchestra to kick off our HBCU Artist Development initiative.
