Dance for All

Dance for All is an educational outreach initiative launched with founding partner and Artist-in-Residence, Capital Contemporary Ballet, to provide affordable dance classes to the Greater Austin community—starting with our pilot program, Ballet for All.

Whether you're a seasoned professional, returning to a childhood passion, or stepping into the studio for the first time, Ballet for All invites students ages 3 and up, including teens and adults, into a healthy, safe, and body-positive environment to train at an affordable price.

Background

Ballet has a rich history spanning over 500 years, but its roots in elite aristocratic institutions have often made it less accessible to broader communities. Today, many talented individuals still face barriers to participating in ballet—whether due to the high cost of training, limited representation, or a lack of inclusive spaces. These challenges disproportionately affect those from lower-income backgrounds, as well as queer and BIPOC artists, whose voices and perspectives are essential to the future of the art form.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Taught by professional ballet dancers and instructors with strong roots in ballet pedagogy, the program honors the tradition and rigor of classical technique while integrating anatomy-informed, injury-preventative practices that ensure strong and sustainable movement habits for dancers of all levels.
